Kendrick Lamar Kills it on SNL

I'm a few days late to the party, but apparently Kendrick Lamar put on an amazing performance at SNL last weekend.  This live take of his new single "i" is intense!   Lamar is ferocious and precise, the band is seriously funky, and the backup singers wail.  It's like watching evidence of musical evolution: James Brown to Prince to this.  Check it out, and get your weekend started on the good foot.  Enjoy!

90 Minutes of Awesome Music

If you were looking for a couple new tracks or artists to get excited about, you have come to the right place. I have heard such great music in the past few months that it was extremely difficult to whittle down this playlist.  So, I solved the problem by just putting each and every song that has recently sparked my interest into this one, long, fantastic mix (apologies for the YouTube ads.  So annoying!).  These 90 minutes are not to be missed.  Highlights include the Swedish-American wonder, Mapei, the mysterious UK-based Jungle (and their amazing 6 y.o. break dancer) and an ultra-sexy collaboration between Janelle Monae and Miguel. I have been listening to a ton of soul music lately, and came across 14 kick-ass tracks I pulled together for your listening pleasure. Top 10 Playlist Vol. 11

It has been a while, kids, but I am happy to be back on AudioIn-AudioOut with a new Top 10 list. Just in time to get your summer off on the right foot. Highlights include the first single off of Little Dragon's new album, the latest from the Roots, a not to be missed "Clueless" themed video from the guilty pleasure that is Iggy Azalea, and an amazing stripped-down live take from Broken Bells.
